Last week Governor Rick Perry announced that Texas will be opting out of the new Health Care Reform. He is notoriously known to not receive help from the federal government, but when do say enough is enough.
Texas is almost dead last in people who have no health insurance. The only break that we get for reasonable health care, its taken away from us. Why is it that the people who need money the most can't seem to get a break in Texas. In these terrible economic times we need all the help we can get from the government.
This isn't the only thing that Perry has rejected. According to an Editorial in the Houston Chronicle, he turned down $700 million for education. Our schools are crap, for lack of better word. Last summer he also turned down $556 million in unemployed stimulus funds. It says that not only did the unemployed miss out on extra money but had Perry taken the money, employers would have saved a quarter of the cost of taxes.
So when do we say enough is enough to the Governor who keeps saying "no" to the money that is much needed?
