Advocating for tthe GLBT Community

After reading Mary's blog, I felt the oppression that the GLBT community is going through. Her argument is full of strong evidence through personal experience and knowledge of the Constitution. It seems that the government has also forgot "separation of church and state". Being a black woman and reading this article, the way Mary uses the historical prejudice and the recent prejudice allows her readers to connect and understand where she is coming from. No doubt in my mind that the GLBT community is getting the same treatment as those mentioned above from the past. Though I'm not lesbian, I'm a strong supporter for them. One of my very best friends is lesbian and I also have two cousins that are gay. I would never treat them any different. As Mary said they are people as well, with feelings. The American people really need to look at how we are treating each other and is it really worth it? I think not. Keep advocating Mary for the GLBT community, because if it can work for the women, blacks, and other cultures that have been mistreated and oppressed; it WILL work for the GLBT community!!
